I'm having a rough time getting my tomatos and cucumbers to pollinate. Anyone have ideas as to attracting bees to the patch? Right now I don't see any!

I have plenty of yellowjackets I would be happy to send your way. Seriously though Franks idea sounds like a winner.

they usually show in the early am, i don't see many around here except bumble bees, but in spite of disappointing tomato pollination, some are getting fruit, so cant blame bees, must be weather or something else

Tomatoes are self pollinating. They are a perfect flower, containing male and female. Could be weather. As for cukes, they are imperfect flowers, meaning male and female are seperate. You could hand pollinate cukes. You could plant some flowers or herbs.

Buy those Blue flowering groud cover plants. I have them all over my yard and they are Honeybee attractants. I have a hubby who is severly allergic and I admit I spray Sevin on them when it becomes a nuisance and yet every year those darling little pollinators return with a vengence.
