Last fall I drove out of the big city to an Agri-Dealer and stocked up on a few supplies like cal-nitrate and of course it only comes in 25-50 kg and bigger bags.

Since I had so much extra, I tried some on my front lawn and now a second feeding this Spring. Wow what a differance it has made compared to the back lawn that I did not treat.

Question is, what other ferts should I give to my lawn every once in a while? In the past we've used the slow release Scotts Turf Builder and would rather not now. Would some 0-0-50 be applied at some time too?

Thanks.

lawns like calcium,,might consider gypsum

If you brew tea it works as well,,,,also some HA does wonders.

I hate cutting grass so I don't use any of these,,heh heh

Why put your lawn on steroids and tighten-up the soil below with excessive chemicals that are going to kill the microbes ?

I put down corn gluten meal (9-0-0) on March 1st, core aerated on April 7th, and then applied a (4-2-3) blend of pastuerized poultry manure with humate, greensand and dry molasses on April 13th. My lawn is lush and green....and I gave it the first mowing of the season this evening with a high blade setting. I did NOT catch the cuttings so that the nitrogen benefit of those clippings could be directly re-applied to the emerging lawn.

Consider going organic with the lawn too.....and leave the chemical over-dosing for the other guys. One can achieve lawn and garden success without using any supplement having an N-P-K component that has a double-digit number !

That 0-0-50 stuff is very excessive. You still have time to re-think your plans !
