Hi guys, I have another question about howdens. I have a ton that are rotting before they even open. I don't think that is all that unusual for this type but I'm not sure. I have about 7 pumpkins that took so far. Other varieties are doing very well. What is the latest these pumpkins can pollinate and still have time to turn orange for October? Mid August? Thanks

They need about 45 days...something is wrong that you are getting aborts do you have Bee's? Normally the field pumpkins are full of keepers.

I have 4 field pumpkin plants in. 2 are from my pumpkin from last year, and those are the only 2 that are dropping females before they even open. Could be the variety, i don't know.

Yep, lots of bees. My ags/lumanus/and mini's are doing great. I have three luminas in and it seems they open almost everyday now. The howdens shrival up before even opening. Maybe too much nitrogen for the howdens?

Another thing is that my plants seem very big. I used 6ftX8ft and they are all over each other. Could be the nitrogen from my soil but it doesn't effect any other variety- very weird.
