We have a variety here in Scotland called "Kelsae" which grows to about 7lbs, but is normally sown here under heat, traditionally on new years day. I have grown them directly in the soil as late as mid march and still had reasonable results. I can send you some if you e mail me on alecandpat@aol.com with an addresss
I live 8 miles from Kelso which is where the Kelsae comes from I think

I am from Romania and it is very hard to find good quality seeds. I am looking forward to grow giant onions but I am not sure where to get seeds or bulbits from?
