I have irises planted in a front garden that have naturalized so much they are overcrowding other plants there. Can you apply roundup to the undesireable parts without killing the entire plant? These things are 15 years old and huge, I would rather not separate them manually if I don't have to, thanks.

I would say the only way to thin out irises is to manually divide them. Never tried roundup. Sounds like you have your work cut out for you.
