Shannon does a great job with the Giant Veggie swap, but what I was thinking was an additional seed swap.
Just a favorite vegetable seed swap. Doesn't have to be anything mammoth, just a seed from something you have grown and would like to share.
If there is any interest we can see how many will be participating and then you would make up that many individual packages and send it to me with $5 (max) for shipping. I will then sort and sent them out. (no Atlantic giant or long gourd seeds)

I harvested yesterday, a couple dozen seed pods from what we know as Trumpet Vines!!! Others call em Hummingbird vines! Long, tall (need a trellis type vines) that grow bright orange trumpet shaped flowers(H/birds love em all summer long), and then leave a long bananna shaped seed pod!! I could also include pkgs of a couple different types of ornamental peppers!! Peace, Wayne

Sounds interesting and a good way to get some more variety for next year ! --- I've got some Okra, Japanese eggplant and Gretel Eggplant seeds from this year. (also have a bunch of field pumpkin seeds if there is any interest in them as well - not sure of the variety since the plants we grew were originally a store bought pumpkin a few years ago that we've been growing plants from for a few years now)
Are you going to set a maximum number of participants so we can make sure we have enough of a supply of seeds for all of them (figure 20 to 30 sets is much easier to supply than 50 to 60 sets of seeds) and if we have an idea of how many sets might be needed can judge which seeds we have a big enough supply of seeds to provide for !

yeah there has been a lot of interest in them lately and the prices some places are wanting for them are getting pretty high (Reimer wants $15 for 5 seeds)- but other varieties of hot peppers sounds good as well !
Hopefully there will be enough interest in this to make it successful as I've always enjoyed giving some new varieties a try.

I don't think we have to worry about a limit...It looks like the numbers will be pretty low. I will set a deadline of Dec 23rd. Then we'll take a head count and see how many people are in. Then have all seeds in the mail to me by mid January, and I'll ship the packages out as soon as I have received all the seeds.
If you have any question just shoot me an email jcf26@hotmail.com

Wow, Mr. Wacker...LOL sorry I couldn't help it!!! LOL I do have a new variety of peppers this year...from a lady in Canada...Pimmente d' Espelette...very tasty, hot but not too hot!!! I dried em, removed seeds, and grind em up and use the powder like I would ground up black peppercorns...just a tad hotter!!! PS...kirk, have you talked w/ Mr VanSandBaggus about BhutJolokia? Peace, Wayne kirk, so far there are 4 here, think we are all in the other swap? prbly so, eh? It's AWL GOOD!!!! Shannon has been doing this for YEARS!!! Chris, this is a GREAT idea!!! Hope more join in!!! Peace, Wayne BTW, when I saw JVH dealing w/ his Ghost Peppers, he was wearing a HAZMAT SUIT, actually a double layer from his elbows, down to his hands!!! These things are DANGEROUS!!! Peace, Wayne

Hello guys...It doesn't look like there is any interest in a random seeds swap, so I'm going to cancel this thing. FYI, This wasn't meant to compete with Shannon's seed swap, I'm participating in that also. He was looking for genetically big stuff...My thought was to allow swapping of anything...veggies, flowers...what ever favorite seed that you have grown. ie no big genetic required.
If any body is interested in the seeds I mentioned...just shoot me an email. jcf26@hotmail.com.
Thank Chris

Hi Chris, and all, I'm new here and would like to swap some seeds. I have some really nice climbing beans, Phaseolus aegypticus, which are delicious, and tubercles of the Chinese Yam or Cinnamon Vine Dioscorea oppositifolia which grows really large tubers/roots. I'd like to try some pumpkins or squash, anything which would like the rich compost I make! Email me please if you're interested in a swap johncossham@tiscali.co.uk Many thanks! John
