Jeff:
If you want to grow giant tomatoes you'll need to remove all suckers as they appear just pinch them off when they pop out.
My info on growing giant tomatoes should be back up on my website shortly.

Hope this helps... TTYL Ernie Giant Veggies

The sucker is the tiny leaf that emerges at the base of a stem, where it goes into the trunk, or even another large stem. If you don't cut them out, they will eventually grow into stems, breaking the first one off, causing stress on the overall plant etc.

My Zacs are at the first true leaf stage. My challenge is to try and arrive with the big one finishing about the first of October. Tricky not so easy plan. :) Am trying to start every week to hit the goal somewhere in the grow.

It will be my luck that the first one and the last one will go four pounds. The rest will look like Sweet One Million. :)

Want a great book on Tomatoes? I found a book called How To Grow World Record Tomatoes by Charles H. Wilber. He lived in Alabama. I read it 2 or 3 times. I plan on following his methods to grow all of my Tomatoes.I'm going to use his methods to grow the Giant ADs. I bought this book from Barnes and Noble. I ordered it online. I really like his concepts about gardening... Greg
