We cut one somewhere around march, put in in a glass of water and now that glass is full of roots! I guess its time to plant. I wonder what type of soil they like best?
Kids idea too Milford and yes,,,,,,, I thought it was pretty cool too :)

Yes the top will root however it takes along time to get a new Pineapple. We grew one a few years ago and never got a fruit after 10 months in a sun room. However the sun room was kept at 50 in the winter.

Just make sure to remove all the pineapple flesh otherwise it will rot the plant eventually, I have tried to root them that way before and they have always died slowly because I did not know that you had remove the fruit around the crown.

Cool read NP, our pineapple is fully rooted in a large glass and we still need to take it out and put into the soil. Thanks for that read, now I know what to do :)
