A few years back I put some wood ash on my corn at that stage and they responded like they loved it.Beautiful large ears of corn and some got 3 ears per plant.Thats about the same as 0-0-50, but then again I'm no corn expert.I'm sure someone here would know this answer.Good luck with your plants.

Hi Fisssh You are only about 11 days or so out from harvest. I would not bother at this point.

No need for fert now. Keep the moisture level up.

I let mine dry out to much this year and it was a little pasty. Like Dave says, keep it moist. This is the first I didn't and got the paste :)

So.Cal you didn't by any chance plant to different varieties. Years ago I had a bunch of my sweet corn have starchy kernels. What had happened is I had a supersweet Sh2 type cross pollinate with an ordinary se (eh) type. It was nasty. I had planted two varieties and not paid attention to the type of corn it was. Not giving them the seperation they needed. The reason I say this is, because I have never had the corn's taste be affected by drought. It will defininitely affect proper pollination and ear development though.
