Anyone ever try to save parsnip seeds? If so how?

Parsnips are biannuals, so the seeds will be produced in the summer following the one they grew in (if you can keep the plant alive that long). Once the seeds have dried on the plant, you can collect them and store them in a paper bag. Parsnip seeds will only last one or two years.

I let one plant go to seed one year. I had enough parsnip seed to grow for the next ten years. Too bad they only last one year like Brad said. I have never had parsnips germinate well after after the first year

I would think you would want to use open pollinated parsnips,as hybrids would revert back to one of the parents(not breed true) Terry
