I've got to seeds to germinate, when and how long do you keep them under the grow light don't want them to be lanky? Any other info on growing these giants would be appreciated.,, first timer!

Once they germ and are up, keep the heat to a minimum, no more heat mat needed.Keep them under the grow light until they have 4-6 leaves.Keep a fan blowing on them for a few hours a day, this will really toughen them up. At that stage you need to get them hardened off. Start putting them in a cool place , like your garage, if it is not heated. Start by setting them in there for 15 minutes, then put them back in the grow box and under the lights.Gradually over a week or two, leave them out in the cold longer every day. You will notice the leaves changing to a more blue color than a bright green, that is a good thing and they are hardening. I start mine in 1 gallon size containers. Feed them good organic food like Neptunes or similar.Don't let them get root bound, they grow rather fast. You can put them outside when the leaves are about six inches across. Feed them once a week, keep soil moist at all times. If you let them get dry, they can split with a good rain.
