I planted about 50 strawberry plants in the spring. They plants started growing and all have green leaves. I have been removing the blossoms to increase plant growth. My question is the plants do not seem to be growing as fast as I think they should. Some are getting runners while others just seem to be sitting there with only 3-4 leaves. Will they start growing more? Or is there something that I am missing??

Treat like pumpkins. Balanced fertilizer program. Control insects, diseases and weeds. Similar to other gardening if you want top yield. No easy answer.

They take a while to perk up after transplanting. I have over 100 new plants growing, and it took a month for them to look healthy.
Everbearing plants are punier than Junebearing varieties at first, but given time, they get as big as Junebearing.
As with AGs, you have to be patient.

I don't even pinch the flowers off anymore. Too much work. I let them set a crop, they still get where you need them to be by fall.

We use 10-10-10 at transplant, and N about 3 Weeks later, or whenever runners appear.
