Yesterday I weighed a 59 pounder off the 75.2 Thomas. I believe it to be the largest to be grown in the United States. Lets start of collective measurement maybe we can get pumpkinfanatic to add a category. If you have never grown one of these. They are very easy to grow,

Scott Robb of Alaska grew the US record in 2009 (82.9 lbs). He has grown a number of other ones over the years considerably heavier than 59 lbs, but great job, nonetheless.

He grew and exhibited three this year over 70lbs (71.4, 77.1 and 81.6).

As you know, some countries tend to call rutabagas "swedes", seeing as the name rutabaga comes from Sweden.

Yes I am aware Scott Robb is the King of Rutabaga's. I meant continental United States.

Congrats all. Our largest this past year was 96.5#. A new Canadian record. Our other one was @ 76#. Not bad for our 1st try at them. It was a good year for rutabagas in Canada in 2014.
