This year my brother grew some Lupines " a form of lavender" & different forms of daisy's. My question is these flowers have gone to seed & are completely dried out. I want to grow these next year , do the seeds need to be futher dried out or can I start trying to grow them now inside. I want to make sure these plants are big enough to get good blooms next year so I think they should be started now.
If anyone has any ideas I need all the help I can get.....Paul

Yo Paul,
You may have to freeze the lupins as they have a hard coat which prevents them growing the same year after falling off the plant into the ground. If you freeze them for a week or so they think they have had a winter rest and will germinate better. Just my 2 pence worth.no cents over here. lol

Hey Paul,
Alun is right, they need to be "stratified". I find the best way is to place them in the fridge in some damp paper towel. Then after a few weeks germinate them sorta like a pumpkin and plant them where you want them to grow. They dislike being transplanted.
