i know you will find this hard to beleive but.... this spring i made some wire cages for my tomaters...out of 2x4 wire 4'tall...well you guessed it..i now have tomatoes about 3 feet from the top of the cage that are ripe so now when i go to the garden i have to take my dadburn wire cutters with my just to get the tomaters out...have you ever heard of anything so dumb???cutting your cages up to gather the harvest??? i sometimes amaze myself...

Awwa thats ok I dont think your dumb. I do stuff like that tons I just dont think ahead. I put some purple founintan grass in the front of my bed this year and its already too big to see the other stuff. I knew it got big.
One good thing to come of it at least you wont do it agian. LOL

I bend them together to make a larger opening for my hand. Squeeze one of the 2x openings in the middle and make it a 1x or so. It will then free up room in the adjacent sqare making it a 4x if both sides are done. While this prolly won't work with giant tomatoes, it seems to work for me for the average sized ones. Could even bend the top and bottom to make it 4x6. Doesn't need to be many of the openings, just enough that you can reach around and get the fruit. Mine are just starting to color up!
