This site is very new. There were hardly any posts on it. Who started it? What is its purpose? Why another site. What does it do that is really any different from this site? I made a post there and will be interested to see what happens to it. It is so new there may not be any replys?

But I like that PHP based board style wich is very common all over the internet right now. It has many features like attaching pics to posts, direct link functions etc. As I heard from other board owners it´s pretty easy to maintain also. Maybe we can have something like that on BP.com in the future?

"What is its purpose?"

Giant Vegenetics is about growing giant vegetables and fruit of all kinds. It's about learning, teaching, and relaxing amongst friends. It's about providing community contributed information to the world without copyright restrictions and especially without mandatory monetary contributions.

"Why another site?"

I had the desire and capability to do so. Other environmental factors included my intense interest in the subject, my personal skillset, and the practice of locking information about growing giant vegetables behind closed doors. A significant reason why all contributions to Giant Vegenetics are release under the GPL Free Document License.

"What does it do that is really any different from this site?"

There is a variety of functionality that is available there and not here, and vice versa. For example, BP.com has a chatroom, Giant Vegenetics has a WIKI.

They are 2 different sites with 2 different subjects that happen to be somewhat related. It's a difference of Scope of topic. The topic of BP.com would be a subset of the topic of Giant Vegenetics.

This is true... Replies will come slowly until there is significant traffic.
