I got an e-mail yeaterday from my brother's fiance announcing that their wedding was to be held on Saturday, October 1, 2005. After I changed my underwear and got my pluse back down I called my brother to negotiate a date change. I am now happily committed to cook Rosemary chicken for 75-100 people on their new wedding date, September 24th.

Jeeze he might as well of scheduled his wedding the opening weekend of Deer Hunting Season in Wisconsin. That was the only weekend we would not book a wedding, because most grooms in Wisconsin would not show or guests for that part.

My brother-in-law and his fiance did the same thing. A new date was negotiated. There is ONE day a year that you cannot mess with....duh!

I got married last year on October 9th. My wife wanted October 2nd, but I kindly informed her, that was not an option!

By the headline my first thougt was "Oh, a comet will hit the earth on oct.1." Glad to read about the wedding. A stone bigger than a comet gets falling from my heart.

Good to see the priorities are in order. Imagine the newspaper headlines. "Wedding pre-empted by Pumpkin Fetsival".

Non-pumpkin people ca be so clueless to what is really important. I guess it is our job to educate them. I'm looking for a political party to bring pumpkins to the national consciences.

Similar Story... This fall, on October 2nd, my cousin got married in California. I almost cried when my uncle first told us the wedding date. Luckily, because it was across the country, they weren't upset that the whole family couldn't make it. My dad made the plane trip to CA for the weekend, and mom and I went to the weighoff.
