My kids want to try to grow some giant pumpkins. Where is the best place to get some seeds and some good instructions? We live in S.E. Massachusetts, is it possibe for us to grow something pretty big here?
Thanks

Jerry,
Post that you are looking for seeds in the Seed Exchange forum, there are also many growers that have already listed free seeds for the price of a SASBP! This is a great community with gernerous Growers!
Good Luck,
Tom

If you have good soil and put some time and energy into it then a 500 pound pumpkin is not uncommon.I grew a 670 pounder the first year trying.Do buy the book "How to Grow World Class Giant Pumpkins II.It is written by Don Langevin.I sent for my copy from Amazon.com but other places also carry it.You need to know about seed starting dates, fertilizers, pesticides, vine shaping and pruning ,and other things I have not mentioned. It is a fun hobby that will get you a lot of attention if you are somewhat serious about it.Also a lot of support and questions will be answered on this website so don't hesitate to ask.
Good Luck,Phil
