Hey Frank

Other than additional artificial light, which may help a bit, you can only hope for better weather and make sure plants are buried right up to their cots. If not, put some soil around the stem.

Frank I have a post in my diary telling what I did, a rookie mistake but easy to correct.
When I planted I left the soil really loose,,,when I watered a couple of times it settled on 2 of my first 4 plants.

Avoiding high temps at night and during overcast weather will help,I grow under a high diffusion film and keep a close eye on this at this time of the year.

I'd bury the plants up tp the cot leaves, it will give the plant some support. Now that the seedling is outside, the "legginess" will likely no longer be an issue.

place a small sheet of mylar on the ground around the plant.Light hits it and shines upwards...seems to keep the plants more grounded.

You might also mound some soil up around the seedling.

I avoid "Planting Mounds"...Just for this problem..before the wind breaks etc..some plants will jump up in my set up.this way I can build up the soil and keep it from being leggy..also should your initial stem develop a severe lengthwise split from soil line to cots you can bury the split until it heals....been there.

Not sure how G knew about mylar,,but I knew a guy, that knew a guy, that heard about a guy that was growing pot in his basement. Lined his growroom with mylar to reflect all that valuable lite.
It's a reflective film like a mirror frank, available from hydroponics supply houses,,you could check the bottom of the leaves for bugs at the same time !
