I started my plant with the idea of shaping like a Christmas tree, because of limited space (20x40).The stump is located about 7 feet from end of patch and centered. With plant being a month old now,I have no idea where to start pruning to acheive tree shape.Seems like leaves and vines are coming from everywhere!I just dont want to start cutting it and mess it up.Or may i should leave it as is with out pruning.Any ideas or help??

don't prune yet..get the main vine down and running in the right direction...secondaries will then start running out from the main...make the christmas tree from those.

don't be afraid to prune off vines coming out of stump, kind of keeps that area clear and simple. Once your main is running, it will put off secondaries as your keepers and they will slowly form a tree pattern with the older vines being longer.
