Hi all, new grower here. (new poster too) Been reading the site for about 3 years though.

Having some kind of leaf disease problem with my generic AG's... I 'think' it's Powdery Mildew... but figured I'd ask here and get a more experienced opinion.

Here's a couple of pics:

Looked for a package of garden sulphur to use on the problem, but it said right on the directions "DO NOT USE on Cucumbers or Squash plants". I found that a bit weird when you could use it on most other garden variety vegatables.

That's Powdery Mildew. Vince is correct.

Eagle aka Nova is the best powdery mildew fungicide. Spray the bottoms of the leaves. Spraying the upper surfaces is useless.

Thanks very much. I bought a basic spray garden fungicide, and sprayed the leaves top and bottom last evening and the leaves directly next to those. Hopefully it will curtail the problem.

(I assume it's a condition that would spread from infected leaves to the un-affected ones.)

Tony,
Yes, it will spread like wildfire as its spread by the wind mostly. Dont just spray it once, you have to keep up on the spraying once you get it. its usually worse on warm humid nites. try to avoid your leaves being wet after sunset, this will slow it down some as well. other methods of dealing with it all over the board here, do a search on PM. 10% skim milk solution sprayed , even baking soda helps. Tons of info but no real way to completely stop it once you have it, but you can definatley slow it way down. Its not a season ending problem if you stay on top of it and keep it at bay best you can.

Thanks Will, vince and Tremor... appreciate your advice. These are just generic plants, but I've been using them for 2 growing seasons to learn the ropes of growing the good ones.

Next year I'll be going all-out with some 'premium' seeds ordered from Dill's website and other products ordered online because it's very difficult to find these products here.
