Keep one on for Halloween especially if there are kids (or kids at heart) in the house.

Keep it going and learn as you go. You'll learn a few things for next year by doing this and you never know what may happen. I know of a certain grower here in Colorado his first year that almost pulled his plant the beginning of August. He ended up taking third prize at the weigh-off that year due to some really good late season growth. He said he learned a lot from that season and now he is one of the better growers in Colorado. Some say he has beaten the Wiz every year (Wiz are you reading, Lol). Enjoy the ride. Sounds like you've got some challenges but if you can figure out what to do to fix what you got this year you'll be so much the better grower down the road.

Keep it going! Your first year correct? If so, at least you will have a personal best to go up against next year. That way when you beat it next year you get satisfaction and reward.

Or you could just go out and do donuts in your patch. I recommend option #1.

hey pepperoni pete
you should have learned a lot this year. this fall prepare a larger area. get it ammended and soil tested.read ,read and read some more. go to a few seminars. ohio giant pumpkin growers has a great beginners seminar.
for the remainder of this year? stick it out , you have nothing to loose.
sometimes it takes years to accomplish your goals in this kobby.especially if you planting in a compromised area.
