Hi. I am actually asking this for my dad who is completely computer illiterate lol. He has two pumpkins this year and is getting all his advice from me - blind leading the blind hahaha. Here is his problem. His vines are HUGE. they are also very healthy looking too. His biggest pumpkin is about 600 lb and his smaller around 450. both are getting almost no growth at all though. He is in a very warm area - about 100 degrees every day. The plants look great and the genetics are very good. i have sister seed to one of his plants at 900 pounds right now and growing 20 plus a day still so I don't think it is genetics. Is it time to put on potassium? it is his first year growing at all and I keep telling him this is huge pumpkins for first year but it is so early in season to hit no growth that I think he would like to at least get some more growth out of them. Any advice is most appreciated. Thanks. Steve

Could take a soil and a tissue sample and send it to a lab. Check soil moisture, dig down 2-3 inches and see what soil is like. If leaves are turgid you should be fine. Any change in conditions lately and age of pumpkins?
