Hi. I have been noticing some growers are covering with blankets at night now. What temperature at night would you start doing that. we are still in low fifties to low sixties but i think it will soon be only low fifties. Thanks. Steve

60f/16c, and I'm out there every night covering.... I hate the wildlife that I get to haul back to the line with the blankets every morning, but. One king blanket will cover about 450-500#, else you have to use more or sew some together.

Thank you. Does it really keep them much warmer than a few sheets over them? I am guessing it must or everyone wouldn't be doing it. Steve

put a thermometer under the blanket with your pumpkin. last week when it was 45 at night, with 2 blankets and a tarp directly snug over the blankets, the thermometer under the blanket next to the pumpkin read 61 degrees in the morning at sunrise. if you have the option, let the outside temp get warmed up a bit before removing the blankets to let things equal out a bit.
