I have tried the sevin in the powder and spray form.....it doesn't seem to kill these stupid green worms at all. I know some of you said not to use sevin cuz it kills everything else......WHAT CAN I USE??????? Please help fast as I can see these are eating into my vines now....

I'm sure they'll kill my plants soon. Thanks so much, Joyce

I think you would need a license for Warrior-T. Anything containing permethrin or bifenthrin should take care of them, like Eight, Talstar or Bifen-IT. For those already in the vine you'll have inject the insecticide into the vine with a syringe, which can usually be found at any farmers co-op. If you don't have a syringe you can take a knife and make a small incision lengthwise in the vine to manually extract them. Though according to the link they can also eat into the fruit...yikes, never heard of that happening with borers. I guess that means you would have to spray the fruit too.

Try and find the hole where they bored in. Take a piece of fairly stiff wire, insert the wire and you can kind of feel them with the tip of the wire. If you angle the wire up and down you can latch on to the worms most of the time. I removed many borers this way last year.

As far as sprays go, after I manually removed them with the wire, I sprayed Triazicide into the holes and around the vines and not one borer came back.
