How soon should new seedlings be watered after they come up and how much water should they get?

moist / never saturate the plants in water. we keep our pots evenly moist from seed start through potting and also once transplanted in the patch.

Don't water the plants EVER!

Damping off/pythium is too likely.

Set the pot in a shallow dish of water. The soil will wick up the moisture and the leaves will remain dry.

Tremor - can new seedlings be watered directly at the base of the stem?
