Just snapped the stem on the first true leaf, I put some captan paste on the break. Will the plant be ok?

I don't see why that would be fatal for the plant, as long as the second true leaf is on its way.

lis, fairly early on in the pkn growth cycle, I intentionally trim off the two or three leaves,(closest to the stump)... to allow air flow to the stump (crown) area. I don't see this as a prblm at all!!! How big is the plant at this time? Peace, Wayne

I had the terminal end break off including the biggest leaf and what would have been the leading vine. Stump is very young only about 3/16" diameter. Now I can see down into the stump. Some leaves farther down are starting to grow - plant still alive, but leaves are growing a little odd. Wondering if it's time to give up and go to backup plants.

Wayne - the plant has the two cots , of course, and the first leaf and also the second true leaf

i wouldnt worry about it broke several leaves of and plant doing fine

I've found that most of my stresses about these plants where unfounded. A friend of mine said.' Relax, It's a plant it wants to survive and it will with minimal care but with plenty of attention it will florish and grow even bigger'. Once I got that in my head and relaxed and did the basics really good. The plants responded and grew well.

lis, WOW...I can understand yer concern, but...if the main growing tip is intact...I wouldn't worry too much!!! Serious...this plant (growing tip intact) will end up w/hundreds of leaves!!! Losing one is not that big of a deal!!! Usually, b/4 pkn is set I have intentionally cut several of the early leaves off to allow air flow around the crown area!!! Patience is a virtue...if the main growing tip is intact...get er in the ground, when weather permits...treat her nice...and watch her grow!!! Peace, Wayne
