The leaves on my plants are seriously wilting during the heat of the day. It has been wicked hot here 85 to 95. They do pick up when the sun is off of them but a couple leaves looked almost dead they were so wilted. Is there anything i should do to protect them? I thought AG's like the heat.

Mine got that way too, they looked horrible, it was scary! I dont know about protecting them but I misted them with a water bottle (VERY light mist) and they perked up almost immediately. Im a rookie so Im not saying its the right thing to do, heck it may be completely wrong but it worked for me

Mine get the same way here -- as Tammy mentioned best thing to do is a good misting throughout the hottest part of the day and\or some shade cloth in order to keep the surface temps down a bit.

if you live in a hot southern climate, or even a hot climate, you need to mist and or shade cloth your plant if you really want to get a good fruit. I've grown for 9 years in high heat, if your leaves are wilting, the plant is gonna grow a pumpkin very big. They really like mild temps (80 degrees) and long days up north where they grow the biggies. Get a timer and a great misting system or your plant will fry in high heat of the summer!

oops, should have said, "if your leaves are wilting, your plant will NOT grow a big pumpkin"

My young plants flag during the heat of the day; I think it's just natural. Today I put... makeshift... shade structures over them and they were fine.
