I see in alot of diaries the use of windblocking fences. Is this really a good idea ? Im thinking it would help to keep the leaves looking better but does this intern make the plant overall grow better? also does it matter if a damaged leaf is left on or should it be removed?

windblocking fences are to help protect the vines from the wind. if unblocked the vines can be lifted and tossed around and get broken which is not good. they help. i would leave the leaf on until it turns brown then snip it off and apply captan. some growers may diasgree and say snip the leaf immediately. any way thats my 2 cents.

I have heard Pap will break wind around the patch every year

thats the advantage Paps patch has over ours, he needs no insecticide that might harm the leaves later, he uses all natural gases to keep pests away and I heard it keeps his neighbors away also,,,LOL!

Best combo for breaking wind is a late night gyro on a belly full of beer..Just ask my guys, worst then sewer gas..

I have a row of short trees that block the wind.

Them trees sound uncomfortable...plus I would think other rubbish would get caught
