Had a stump of a summer squash break 3/4 of the way in half in a bad windstorm. Dried/cleaned the area out with a bleach/water solution, painted some Ortho Disease control around the entire area and mounded soil up past the break in the stump and its since then healed, grew more roots in the general area and is growing nicely with no plant stress on it whatsoever. I refuse to give up on any plant. :)

My main plant broke its stump and was 90% severed about a month ago but I decided to cut it off completely and let it grow anyway and it has come back and developed a main off what would have been a secondary I think. My backup plants were so far behind I ended up keeping it. I don't know if I'll get a good fruit because of how hot it will be by the time I'm pollinating this year but the plant seems pretty healthy considering.

after cleaning you could use a paste with a mix of captan and water.
