Is it better to pollinate from the same vine or to cross pollinate from a different plant? thanks.

Genetics is very complicated. It depends on what you want to do Genetically. Other than that it make no real differance.

Crosses are more sought after when the correct traits are present.

If you have the hot genetics in the seed you planted say (1502 X 1112.5) for example. Then by selfing or sibbing the plant you create a F-1 hybrid. Subsequent selfing and sibbing of the offspring begins to lock in the genetics and stabilize the line. This takes years to accomplish and unless you select the correct genetics to begin with can take a lifetime to perfect the perfect genetic line. We are still working on that....
