Forecast for the northeast is for 90+ Sunday-Thursday. I guess all I can do is water. Haven't covered any pumpkins yet, there not big enough.

Yup, keep watering. Unfortunately my soaker hoses suck, so I will be doing some overheads watering also, just have to remind myself to keep up with the Trazicide & Daconil sprays also.

Yup. New York is going to be Hot, Hot, Hot.

I don't want to over water though. I have the t tape from dripworks.com and it works great. Is there a foolproof way to know if I am over watering? To much water cant be good. I am trying to avoid having my vines, that are buried, rot to hell.

White Styrofoam cups and ices. Keep the females dry to avoid trouble. Good luck!

a word of caution if you are overhead watering. do not overhead in the early a.m. until the leaves have had a chance to dry off any dew from the previous night.
powdery mildew spores (and others as well ) could be present on the wet leaves and by overhead watering before the leaves dry out will help spread the spores.

wouldn't watering in the am also assist in washing off the mildew spores that landed on the dew-covered leaves overnight?
