If one were to grow indoors in a controlled environment, what would be the lighting requirements for pumpkins? Any specifics ahould as the color of the bulb(the color of light it emits on the light spectrum usually measured in "k"'s, or kelvins, which I'm assuming would be in the yellow/green area, or around 6500k). Also, details such as wattage of bulbs, and which would be better..metal halides, t-5's or compact flourescent.
Assuming that money is no issue, which equipment/set-up would you use?

2700k to 3000k bulbs provide higher output in the red spectrum to promote flowering. 5000k to 6500k bulbs with a lot of light in the blue spectrum promotes green growth. Metal halides should be your primary source for lighting, but you can add an high pressure sodium bulb during flowering time. I would have a few T5 fluorescents for a nice broad spectrum light.

I thought blue was in the 14k-20k range and that it has no real consequence on photosynthesis?
What about using t-5's at a lower height, reducing energy spent and heat emitted from the bulb(s)?
