it looks wet but it is slightly sticky and the pumpkin appears it may be "canteloping" is this normal and should I be treating it somehow

that means its a bit older and shes a sapping and canteloping because the outer skin is a bit tougher now and shes still growing. sometimes you can also have long very thing cracks on the pumpkins exterior as well.

you could wipe the fruit down with a small towel and a solution of 8 parts water to 2 parts bleach.
