Grew 3 plants --

763 Young - lost 2 set pumpkins on one of them and had already lost the vine tips to the heat so got nothing on it.

421 Drum -- got caught in a Dust Devil ( Pic for those that do not know what they are -- http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/43/Dust_devil.jpg ) - when I was behind on burying the vines and had 4 - 6 tears in the main vine and a few on several secondaries -- was a tough plant and still managed to grow 2 small pumpkins (107 lber and a 95 lber)

851 Fowler - Planted earlier than the other 2 and got a 320 Lber and a 187 Lber on it (the 320 lber was on a secondary and was going to be culled but my 10 year old neice talked me into leaving it which turned out to be a good thing since all attempts on the main aborted due to the 100+ degree temps when they bloomed) - unfortunately the plant was planted too early and the pumpkins started to rot late august after sitting in the garage for a few weeks

I grew (2) plants to maturity which produced the 1039 Margarida and a pumpkin that was estimated at 892 pounds but it rotted before the weigh-off.

Breaking 1000 pounds my rookie year was a great thrill and I can't wait to get started this year.

Grew one plant. Developed a blossom end split at just under 500; managed to nurse it along to about 630 before crack got too big. Cloned a couple of vines off main plant, though. Got a 350 off one and one that taped 55 but was closer to 75. Sold the 350 to a store for a Halloween display.

2010 was my rookie year. Grew 2 plants, split one at 40 days est 710 lbs. Got another one set a couple of weeks later on a tertiary and managed to snake out a 327 lbs on that plant. The other plant produced an 1180 lber that took second place in our local weigh off. It was an incredible experience and I have been dying to start this year since the day after the weigh off.

2010 was actually my 3rd season....but i did some stupid things in 2010 so it felt like it was my rookie year. A repeat of 2010 is not an option, and anything below 1000 pounds this year will be FAILURE!

I got a late start last year, due to ignorance! Will not discuss sizes!!! Put it this way anything over 35 lbs will be a new PB!!! My goal is 400, really would like to see 600 plus. Still a long way from aquiring all the amendments and irrigation needed, but we'll give it a go!

2010 was my first year. I grew 4 plants in my main patch and grew a flag pattern in my vege garden.

The flag pattern was around 160 sq ft most of the season and I grew a 645 from it.

In the main patch I grew a 1157 (unofficial weight), it split around day 51,
a 1127 (weighed at ovgpg),
a 856 ( est),
and a 772 (weighed at ovgpg weigh off).

I had a good rookie year. I made many mistakes and hope to do better this season.

cntryboy, nice to meet you at the seminar !!

2010 Was my first year and mt goal was the break 200 lbs and ended up with a 331 pounder and several others from 100-250..Was a great year as i learned so much from the people on this site. The SVB stopped the growth on my 331 plant about 45 days early, and the powdery mildew also slowed me down.Im ready this year and my hope is to break 600 lbs ,time will tell and good luck to everyone!!!!!!

2010 was my first year and I grew two pumpkins, only one I took to a weight-off which weighed in at 655 lbs. My second pumpkin measured around 400 lbs.

I just start my 2011 season this past weekend and have my selected seeds growing in some small pots. I've made quite a few amendments to the soil and my soil test shows that I'm in good shape. It's a long way from now until a weight-off... who knows what's going to happen. I wish everyone a "ton" of good luck!!!

Last year I planted 3 plants, Most of my famales on the mains aborted due to the early high heat we had. I lost two plants to y.v.d. ,I think. So I ended up with three pumpkins on one plant, all on secondary vines. 500#, 325# and 125#. Hoping for much better results this year. good luck to all!!!!
