I've read that double vines are bad plants but what about plants that put off 2 leafs on one stem. Is this just something that happens randomly or will it continue as the plant grows, Plant is less than 3 weeks old and 2 out of 5 leaves are doubled. Will this cause problems later on because to me it sounds like a good thing but its only my 2nd yr???

Mary, these AG's are certainly oddities of nature!!! Wait a few days and you should have evidence of a singular abnormality, or a mutant plant!! Would like to see what the vine itself looks like? Peace, Wayne

I had one like that last year with double leaves. ended up having strong vine growth, after a bout with overheating, and a bout of frost. but all male flowers withered and never opened, was pollinated, and split after heavy watering and 30 lbs per day around 500 lbs.

If the double leaf is not the main..and the main looks normal..It is probably fine..

mary,if double leaf means youre getting two leafs at each node, youre plant is likely to develop into a flat vine. time will tell,it can straiten out,or youll see three or more leafs at a future node. thats what causes the ribbon-multiple leaves mean multiple vines side by side

3 seeds from my 882 of 2009 had double leafs last year.

this year my practice germinations didnt form any 1st trues leafs of my 882's

i think it is genetics.
