Last year my pumkins were not bother with bugs, so I didn't listen when every one was talking about using bug sprays. SO guess what? I've got'em now. I've seen potato bugs and some little striped bug that gets down in the bloom. I'm very sorry I didn't listen to good advice. Is it too late to start killing them? If not what do I spray on first? I'm all ears now!!!

Early morning or late daylight hours would be best. Don't spray or dust in the high heat of the day.

I have noticed that even with dusting, if the plants are misted during the heat of the day some burning will show up.

I use Rotenone and have had good luck. It has been my experience that it will not burn no matter when applied. But I do suspect that one female did not set as I put rotenone inside her blossem BEFORE I pollinated. I hand pick em out now, pollinate and then lightly dust.
