I noticed that my back vine has a 3inch split very near the stump. Any ideas what to do. The vine does still look very healthy but it being so close to the stump worries me.I buried it for now.The rest of the plant looks very good.Thanks,Jeff

Same thing happened to me, so far it hasnt caused any problems with the main, and after it split it started growing even faster, its now at 8 feet. Anyways, unless the secondary is within an inch of the stump it should be fine. good luck

I have a few secondaries with splits, and it doesn't even seem to affect them at all. I would say it should be fine.
