This is my first time growing pumkins. Unfortunately I have had some pumpkins start to shrivel up when they are about the size of a softball or small melon and die off. Is this normal? Should I cull some of the pumkins? Thanks for any and all help

how hot are the temps? if over 90 then you will have a problem getting them to set, better look into the posts on Iceing pumpkins also ease up on the fertilzer especially the Nitrogen. Glenn

If They lost their shine pretty much over....remove from the vine and look for the next set...if it was from one day without water hang in there but if it's consecutive days without shine ....it'll cull itself!
