when spraying bifen and daconil for instance.
Any tips on how to achieve full coverage on top and bottom of the leaves when they are all crammed together and over lapping. Plus I'm having trouble reaching the middle of the plant.
In 700 sq feet do I use a mix of 2 or 3 gallons?
And would I spray just a even coat with 2 gallons, or just soak everything with 3 gallons
3mil of bifen, 1oz of daconal per gallon
Thanks

Hey Darren, maybe too late now... but did you not put walking boards in between some of the secondaries?

I forget who, but a wise grower on here, advised those of us without a power blower/mister, to strategically place walking boards on each side of your plant, either every second or third secondary...that way, you can get into the plant and use your pump sprayer to get the tops and the bottoms of the leaves.

Works for me...

2 gallons seems like enough, if not too much to cover 700 square feet. I was able to cover that area or more with 1 gallon targeting the bottoms of the leaves primarily. I use a similar mix and rate except 1 oz Bifen per gallon and it provided about a week of strong coverage till I had to switch to the Stihl. Each week I switch the fungicide but I always use the Bifen.

Another thing, accessing the center of the plant is a must. If walking boards are used that is great, but never let concerns over soil compaction interfere with keeping the plants weeded, watered, pruned, sprayed etc. These are major details that should not be slighted over concerns about compaction, which I would throw into the more fine details category. Hope this helps!

I just asked a question kindda like this and then saw this one, sorry !

I have the walking boards down,,,, so I guess I have to just keep being very careful and get in!

I never did the airless Darren, because of the stinkin hose line wanting to rip my leaves out :( It sounded good though :)
