This is my first year at seriously trying to grow a giant pumpkin and I have been reading alot of info on how to do so but one thing I haven't read anything on is if you are supposed to cut off the secondary vine (at the location where the pumpkin is set) when you have a pumpkin set on the main vine. Most pictures I have seen appear to have this vine removed. Your help is appreciated.

Cut it off..It will only cause stress on your vine and stem later. Plus the pumpkin will end up growing over it. Just pretend you are going to stick a 55 gallon barrel where your litle pumpkin is right now. Shannon
