Well, I know I have a couple of months to go, but does anyone know what I can find to build a device to pick up my pumpkins? I can't aford the real thing right now. When the time comes, Im not sure what Im going to do? We found a "89" F150 truck to move them. Is there some kind of fram I can build or something to put on the truck, or some one might have a photo I can see on how to do it?

Doug,
As my pumpkins got progressively bigger, fewer and fewer "lifters" showed up to help. Last year, I loaded 'em all by myself, with a lifting ring (avaliable from PGPGA), a 1 1/2 ton come-along, a wooden beam, and a 2 buck scaffold.(Which you could rent if no one will lend you one). Once set up, you just back your truck right under the pumpkin. There's a photo in my gallery, e-mail me if you need more info!
