I have two nice pumpkins going on one plant. The biggest one is on the main and the second one is on a true secondary coming out of the root. The main pumpkin is about 72 inches cir. (113lbs ott) and the second one is younger at 60cir. I kept the 2nd pumpkin as a buffer but probably should have cut it off. Will the second pumpkin take juice from the main pumpkin? Should I cull the second fruit or keep both? These are the biggest pumpkins I have to date and they look like both could be in the 200+lbs range when finished. What to do? Any suggestions would be appreciated! JEff

It depends what your goals are. Do you want 2, 200 pounders or one that's bigger? If you cull the smaller one, the larger of the 2 will grow faster.

it's your decision, like smitty said. if you do cull one, you might want to cut the stem a little at a time over a period of a few days so your main fruit doesn't blow up on you.
