i went away to maine recently for 4 days. I returned this morning to what looked like to be a very nice 5 foot long maine vine with many helath secondarys... i bent down to take a closer look and noticed right where the stem of the plant is there is a hole drilled in it...before any leaves start... vine borer? i think so and this was the only "big" plant i have this year... so yet again another year shall rool around with me empty handed. :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(!!!!!!!!!!!

I have great hope & expectations. Next year, with all we've learned this year, we're both going to break the CT record!

We both need to keep fewer plants. When things settle down a bit, I'll sumarize my enormously successful pest control program in EXCEL. I'll forward copies when it's finished.

Woulkd you like to join the northern leg of our next Thursday Patch Tour? We're visiting the finest growers in the New Haven area if all goes as planned. It is a rare opportunity to visit patches & their keepers some of which have never been seen by the eyes of common men.

i wouldnt mind joining but i am only 14 and i dont think my parents would want me tot lol! i will just look at the growers diaries!
thanx anywayi am probaly only going to grow one giant plant next year and maybe one for cross polination.

Have your parents talk and meet some of the growers. Maybe you can go with one of them. You know parent permission slips and all that stuff like when you go on a school field trip.
