Anyone (pumpkinpley perhaps) that has some knowledge on what kind of growth I can expect in British Columbia, Canada for the month of September would be more than welcome. We had some cool weather and weight gain slowed by 1/2 its normal. What kind of gains can I hope for in the month of September for our kind of climate? Any hints on what may give me some addtional growth for the last 30 days?? I'd love to hear from anyone that may have local knowledge or anyone with the same kind of climate as the Pacific Northwest.

Hi Glenn, I think here in northern Germany we have the same conditions as in PNW. And there any reasons pushing down the growing of the pumpkins. The sunlight in september is not more intensiv and the time of daylight is going shorter. That results cold nights often with fog, cloudy moist weather and the result is PM. If PM or not, for lack of light, the leaves can´t work as good as before and the plant probably do all thing to ripen the fruit in that condition it is and maybe the gain is =0. And there is nothing to do to prevent this else if I had a heatening hoophouse I would begin earlier in the season so that the fruitsetting is in juni instead of july.

Remay over the whole plant. I've seen heavy hitters from your area doing it wiht success.

It is a porous very thin transparent tarp, very close to a greenhouse plastic, but it lets the water go through and is not as warm. You can just extend it over the plant (on) and fix the edges to a fence or similar. It will create a warmer microclimate inside with very little money and trouble.
