My sister and her husband have a patch of jackolantern pumpkins. She says that they are good and orange. Shpuld they go ahead and pick them, if so how do they need to and where should they store them until last of Oct. Would leaving them on vine an option or will they try to rot? Thanks

If the vines are dead, then I would store them in a cool place out of the sun, but if the vines still have life in them, I would let them go a while longer.

Thanks Pumpkin Doug, I think the vines are still doing alright. Anyone else?

Check for SVB larva in your vines if they are mushy. I found one of those critters this morning.
