Some people ask me for the seed of my last year 207 and for the seeds of my pumpkins growing this year. I would like to shipping them only after doing a germination test. So my questions is: How does germination test work and at what time should I do a germination test, right now or in spring?

I'd do it right now, just as soon as the seeds get dry. 10 units could be a minimum statistical number.

To dry before is only to have them in the same condition as they will be when you will germinate them in spring; it isn't a need. 10 could be a good number, but it can be 9 or 12 or 30, of course. A good result could be any one higher than 70%, I'd say. However, the highest germination percentage, the better. 100% shouldn't be odd to get.

Thank yall for your advices.
Mc, last year we had a "Queensland Blue" on the kitchens windowsill for exhibition. In january i cut him for pumpkinsoup the rind was hard as stone and but most of the seeds had 1 inch roots sprouted. What a pity it was to early to plant them out.
