The plants I have I think have been doing okay in growth. This is my first time in trying to grow any and if they stopped today I would have to be pleased. But, my question is my stems that lead to my leaves have mostly turned yellow and are dying away Is this normal? To much sun? To much rain? And my second question is the main vines out to my pumkins are still primarily green but my stems on my pumkins are all cracked and really dried looking and you can see where sometimes they are leaking a small tiny amount of fluid. Are the stems to dry? To wet? Do the plants need more water? Less water? Do I need to do anything to the stems? Help??? Thanks for any advice.

look on the bottoms of the vines for "blow out" spots. my howden vines were riddled with blow outs. grubs do this. some of my AGs have begun "die down". they have grub sign also,,,, but it is that time of year,,,,,,,,,,,
i also had luck pasting sulfur in the cracks,,,
im battling this huge orange bug that was laying its grubs on uncovered pumpkins. in two days they are digging in and turning all that fine pumpkin rind into mush. i pulled them, and washed/bleach/oiled them.. the ags are covered,,,,no grubs so far.... good luck
