no educated bees or maybe to much nitrogen! Have your soil tested to see where you are at with ferts. to much nitrogen makes beautiful green vines but they never know it's time to set fruit...are the female flowers all aborting at pea size or do they get to baseball and fall off.

Did you do any pollenating by hand or did you leave it up to the bees?

thanks for the reply, we left it up to mother nature on pollenation. i never saw any fruit on the plants, any size? but i will test the soil for the nitrogen too.

My first couple females never blossomed. Just turned brown and whithered up. I think it was because the plants werent getting enough sun cuz once the secondaries reached the area that gets a lot of sun I got females opening up. Didnt think about the nitrogen- when I had my soil tested, the nitrogen was off the chart. Hmmm

Nitrogen leaches through the soil via rain and will also dissipate into the air if left uncovered. So when the soil is tested unless extremely high most growers don't put much into the nitrogen levels. They will level out quickly. but it could postpone your fruit set while it goes away. Most halt all fertilizing during fruitset.
