Pumpkin stopped growing when I cut the tap roots? Coincedence? Suggestions? Is it normal for it to go into a bit of shock and pause in growth? I hope it picks back up again.

I did this with my 1024 Pukos. It was really taking off. It almost quit growing all together. It came off the vine a week ago. ott 207 est weight 196lbs. Never really recovered I guess from the shock. I think i did it to soon. I will not be in so much of a hurry nerxt year.. My other is doing alot better i waited longer.. Greg

Which tap roots do you mean? Before and after the fruit to avoid stem stress when it´s getting bigger? I understood this is something you have to do in the stage of 50 to 75 pounds.

Its a little bigger than a basketball. i cut the tap roots directly under the pumpkin stem, and one on each side. Still doesnt look like its growing. I'm getting pretty bummed.
